According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on March 23, 2022, at approximately 1148 am, The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Security Unit was notified by a female victim about a domestic incident that occurred in the parking lot of the Oneida County Courthouse located at 200 Elizabeth Street in the City of Utica.

Deputies determined that Derrick D. Evans, 33, from the City of Utica, violated the Order of Protection by communicating with the victim using vulgar language while leaving the courthouse building. Evans was arrested and transported to the Law Enforcement Building in Oriskany where he was processed and charged with Criminal Contempt second a class A Misdemeanor.

Evans was held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment.
