According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on April 9th, 2022, Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the area of Walker Road, in the Town of Deerfield, for a report of a suspicious activity that occurred in the overnight hours involving three to four masked individuals. During the Deputies investigation, and subsequent canvas of the area, it was learned that these individuals had made their way through several surrounding neighborhoods off of Walker Road. These individuals attempted to gain entry into multiple vehicles and were successful in stealing items from within a select amount of victim’s vehicles that had unlocked car doors.

As a reminder, the Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public stay vigilant and remove all valuable items from your vehicles overnight. It is important to keep your car doors locked in order to prevent these types of larcenies from occurring. As a result of this investigation, there will be increased patrols in the area.
