According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at approximately 11:00 AM on May 7, 2022, Road Patrol Deputies responded to the vicinity of State Route 365 and Fairchild Road in the Town of Remsen for reports of a serious physical injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival to the scene, Deputies located a two-car motor vehicle accident. While enroute to the Hospital, Geer succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident. Jackson was evaluated on scene and was released with minor injuries. The Road Patrol Unit was assisted on scene by members of the Sherriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit along with the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Identification Unit. During the investigation, a portion of State Route 365 in the Town of Remsen was shut down but has since been opened to the public.
