According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M Maciol, on July 11th, 2022 a search warrant was executed at a residence on Whitesboro St in the City of Utica relative to narcotics trafficking. Investigators with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit charged Ryan Lopitz age 28 of Utica with several narcotics related offenses

Through the course of the investigation, investigators learned that Lopitz was distributing fentanyl from a location on Whitesboro St. Subsequent to the investigation cause was developed to execute search warrants relative to the narcotics trafficking.

Following the execution of the search warrants, a quantity of fentanyl and U.S currency was seized.

Lopitz was charged with:

Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 3rd – B Felony

Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 4th – C Felony

Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 7th – A Misdemeanor

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit worked jointly with the Utica Police Special Investigations Unit and was also assisted by members OCSO Forensic ID Unit, OCSO Road Patrol, and NYS Parole.
