According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on July 23, 2022, at about 10:51 AM, Deputies responded to the Bartlett Rd and W Carter Rd intersection in the Town of Westmoreland for a reported two car rollover, personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Theodore Fauss (61) of Rome, NY was operating a red 2019 Ford F150 North on Bartlett Rd. At the intersection of W Carter Rd, Fauss’ vehicle struck a grey 2017 Honda CR-V operated by Susu Nwe (34) of Utica, NY that was traveling West on W Carter Rd which had failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection. After the collision, Fauss’ Ford pick-up exited the West shoulder of the roadway into the ditch before overturning two times and coming to rest upright off the roadway. Nwe’s Honda SUV also exited the West shoulder of the roadway striking the road signs and coming to rest overturned onto its roof.

Fauss was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital for neck and back injuries. Nwe was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital for an evaluation along with Nwe’s 8 year-old rear passenger, whose name will not be released due to her age, for a complaint of hip pain. Nwe was issued citations for Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign returnable to Westmoreland Town Court at a later date.
