As week 6 ended at the New York State Sheriffs' Institute & Summer Camp in Penn Yan, NY, the Oneida County Campers have returned.

Campers spent the week enjoying campfires, fishing, hiking, sports, arts and crafts, demonstrations, and making new friends. As they reunited with their families the stories of the past week had already started, and their smiles said it all.

All returning campers also received an Oneida County Sheriff's Law Enforcement Foundation t-shirt.

Special thank you to the Altrock family who donated a cake, to say thank you for their daughter's experience at camp.

The Sheriffs’ Summer Camp is a program of the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute, Inc. The Sheriffs’ Institute was established in 1979 to assist the office of the Sheriff in advancing education in the criminal justice community, and supporting victims of crime and their families.

The camp is made possible with financial support from honorary members of the Sheriff’s Institute. The camp sees over 900 children ages 9 to 12 at no charge.
