According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, an arrest has been made following the Arson investigation at the Motel 6 in Oriskany over this past weekend.

On Thursday, August 25th the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit secured an arrest warrant for Crystal Newbold (36) of Missouri from the Town of Whitestown Court for the charges of Arson 2nd (Class B Felony) and Criminal Mischief 2nd (Class D Felony).

On Friday, August 26, 2022, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit took Newbold into custody after she was located in the Village of Waterloo by the Village of Waterloo Police Department and the Seneca County Sheriff's Office.

Newbold was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building in Oriskany where she was processed and booked on the above charges.

She was then brought to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment.
