According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, On September 7th, 2022 at or around 6:35 pm Road Patrol Deputies responded to the intersection of Rome New London Road and State Route 49 in the Town of Verona for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Tina Hartle (61), of Rome, NY, was operating a white 2016 Chevrolet Equinox on State Route 49. Hartle attempted to make a left hand turn onto Rome New London Road from the blinking red light and struck an orange 2018 tractor trailer traveling eastbound, operated by Richard Denison (29), of Munnsville, NY. Hartle’s vehicle struck the front drivers side area of the tractor trailer, causing Denison to pull off the shoulder of the roadway into the embankment. Dension complained of shoulder/arm pain. Hartle and her passenger did not sustain any injuries from the accident. Hartle was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way, returnable to the Town of Verona Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by New London Fire Department, Carl’s Towing, and Amcare Ambulance.
