According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a 19 year old male was injured in a one car motor vehicle accident on State Route 49 in the Town of Marcy.

On October 13th, 2022 at about 11:13 am, Tyler Delgado age 19, was operating a 2012 Dodge Avenger in a Northwesterly direction on State Route 49 Westbound lane in the Town of Marcy. Due to unreasonable speed, Delgado lost control of his vehicle and struck the guide rail on the North side of the road before cutting across both lanes of travel and colliding with the concrete median barrier on the South side of the road. Delgado's vehicle came to a rest along the concrete barrier on the South side of the road. Delgado's vehicle sustained heavy damage, as well as damaging the concrete barrier and guide rail. Delgado was transported to Saint Elizabeth's Hospital by Kunkel Ambulance to be evaluated.

Delgado was issued traffic citations that are returnable to the Marcy Town Court at a later date.

The Sheriff's Office would like to remind motorists to slow down during special weather conditions, plan to leave early if you have somewhere to be, and to SLOW DOWN and MOVE OVER for emergency and hazard vehicles. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injuries, death, property damage, and/or traffic citations.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Maynard Fire Department, Kunkel Ambulance, and The New York State Police.
