According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on 10/21/22 at about 7:39 AM it is alleged that Mark Maher age 39 of Waterville attempted to steal a zippo lighter from the Walmart Distribution Center in the Town of Marcy.

The attempted theft was detected by security as Maher attempted to leave the employee exit of the Distribution Center. The Lighter was recovered by security staff and Mark was detained until Law enforcement arrived, at which time he was taken into custody and charged with 1 count of attempted Petit Larceny.

Maher was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff's Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Marcy Court on a later date.
