According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Rome man was injured after a motorcycle crash on Route 49 in the City of Rome at 10:30 AM today.

Tony E. Moonen, 20, of Rome, was eastbound on Route 49 on a 2020 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control and exited Route 49 and entered into the median where he was ejected and struck an earth embankment. Moonen sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was transported by AmCare ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica.

Moonen was cited for imprudent speed, operating out of class, and operating uninsured and issued summons returnable to Rome City Court.
