According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On December 9, 2022 at about 0615 AM, a deputy responded to Rome Taberg Road in the City of Rome for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputy Hagerty determined that Desiree Holbert (39), of Camden, NY, was operating a white 2017 Mitsubishi in an easterly direction on Rome Taberg Road when she was following too closely and rear-ended Robert Glur (52), of Taberg, as he attempted to stop for a school bus.

Glur complained of back pain and was transported by private car to Rome Hospital for evaluation.

Holbert complained of chest pain and was transported to Rome Hospital for evaluation by AmCare.

Holbert was issued citations for following too closely and aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd, a class A misdemeanor, returnable to City of Rome Court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by New York State Police, Rome Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
