According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol on December 14, 2022, at approximately 6:37 pm deputies responded to a single vehicle personal injury accident on Route 291 near Hayes Rd in the Town of Marcy.

Following investigation, deputies determined that a 17 year old driver was traveling Northbound on Route 291 when they failed to use appropriate speed when approaching a curve, causing them to leave the roadway on the Eastern shoulder and crash into a utility pole. The 17 year old driver was evacuated on scene for non-life threatening injuries and taken to St. Elizabeth's hospital for further medical evaluation via Kunkel Ambulance.

The 17 year old driver was issued a UTT returnable to Marcy Town Court at a later date.

Deputies were assisted on scene by Maynard Fire Department and Kunkel Ambulance.
