According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, on January 9, 2023, at about 8:25 P.M. there was a Motor Vehicle Accident on Bartlett Rd in the City of Rome.

As investigated and reported by Deputy Portner, Jane White, age 82 from the Town of Annsville, was operating a 2006 Toyota SUV on Bartlett Rd, in the City of Rome. Jane was traveling at a speed not reasonable and prudent for the weather conditions, and lost control of the vehicle, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole. There was heavy front end damage to the vehicle, and damage to the utility pole.

Jane was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital by AmCare ambulance for further evaluation.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Jane was issued citations returnable to Rome City court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's office was assisted on scene by Stanwix Fire Department, Rome Fire Department, and AmCare Ambulance.
