Two car Personal Injury accident leads to a South Carolina woman's arrest for DWI.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on February 9th, 2023, at approximately 6:49 P.M. Deputies responded to a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 365, in the Town of Trenton.

Deputies determined that Sheila Kinard, age 57, from the City of West Columbia, South Carolina, was traveling east on State Route 365 in a 2016 Nissan Rogue when she collided with a 2014 Volkswagen Passat, driven by Mark Kirkland, age 59, of Barneveld. Barneveld Fire Department and Star Ambulance responded to the scene and Kirkland was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for shoulder pain. None of the injuries appeared life threatening.

Deputies determined that Kinard was at fault for the accident and that she was driving while intoxicated by alcohol at the time of the accident. Kinard was charged with DWI and several other traffic violations.

Kinard was held at the Oneida County Law Enforcement building to appear in front of Centralized Arraignment to face the charges on Friday morning.
