New Hartford Man Arrested

According the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol a New Hartford man was arrested on 03/06/23 at about 1205 PM after pointing a loaded handgun at an undercover Oneida County Sheriff Investigator in an unmarked Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

Jayden Z. Angleton, 21, of New Hartford pointed the handgun at the Investigator as the two vehicles traveled in a Westerly direction on Burstone Road in the City of Utica. The Investigator followed him a short distance and then initiated a traffic stop where Angleton was taken into custody on State Route 12 in the City of Utica. Angleton tossed the gun out the window where it was recovered a short distance from the vehicle.

A check of Angleton revealed that he did not possess a NYS Pistol Permit, therefore he could not legally possess the 10mm Glock Handgun.

Angleton was charged with the following;

-Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C Felony

-Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E Felony

-Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A Misdemeanor

Angleton is currently being held awaiting an arraignment at CAP Court.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Utica City Police Depart, Patrol, and Criminal Investigation Division.
