According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Utica man was arrested at the County Office Building after subjecting a Deputy to physical contact.

On March 03, 2023, at about 10:30 am, Deputies, were assisting staff with Alexander Makley, 26, address homeless.

At this time, Makley, subjected a Deputy to physical contact and resisted an authorized arrest of himself.

Makley, was transported to the Oneida County Sheriffs Law Enforcement Building for processing and lodged awaiting Centralized Arraignment.

He has been charged with, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), and Obstructing Governmental Administration all misdemeanors. Makley was also charged with Harassment Second Degree a violation, for subjecting the Deputy to physical contact.

The Deputy was not injured in the altercation.
