According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a 20 year old female was injured in a two car motor vehicle accident on E Main Street in the Town of Westmoreland.

On April 18th, 2023 at about 6:13 pm, Haily Effland, age 20, was operating a 2015 Ford and attempting to make a right hand turn onto E Main Street, in the Town of Westmoreland. Due to failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign, Effland pulled in front of a 2018 Nissan being operated by 25 year old Owen Grey and caused a right angle collision. A witness along with Camera footage, revealed Grey to be operating at a speed that was not reasonable and prudent, for the raining weather conditions. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage as a result of the collision. Cocvac ambulance transported Effland to St. Luke's hospital for minor injuries. All injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

Effland and Grey were both issued a traffic citation that are returnable to the Westmoreland Town Court at a later date.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Westmoreland Fire Department and COCVAC Ambulance.
