According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on April 25, 2023, at about 4:02 PM, Deputies responded to the Reber Rd and Blackmans Corners Rd intersection in the Town of Verona for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that April Roggie (23) of Carthage, NY was operating a white 2019 Subaru sedan Southeast on Blackmans Corners Rd. At the intersection of Reber Rd, Roggie’s vehicle was struck in the passenger side doors by the front end of a green 2014 Jeep SUV operated by Kyle Ingram (29) of Vernon, NY that was traveling North on Reber Rd which had failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection. After the collision, Roggie’s Subaru and Ingram’s SUV both exited the North shoulder of the roadway and struck the ditch before coming to rest, both with extensive damage. Ingram stated that he did not observe the stop sign at the intersection and when he attempted to stop he was unable to do so due to inadequate/faulty brakes.

Roggie was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital for abdominal and shoulder pains. Ingram was evaluated and released on scene and was issued citations for Unlicensed Operator, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, and Inadequate Brakes returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Verona Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance, the New York State Park Police, and Rocker’s Automotive and Towing. Da a
