According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on Friday, April 28, 2023, at approximately 11:53 pm, Road Patrol Deputies responded to State Route 365 in the Town of Floyd for a reported single-vehicle personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Anthony Jones, 28, of Floyd, was operating a 2011 Ford Fusion Westbound on State Route 365 in the Town of Floyd, when he lost control of the vehicle and left the Northern shoulder of the roadway. Jones' vehicle struck several mailboxes, a guide wire, and a split rail fence, before coming to rest on the shoulder of the roadway. Jones was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center for further medical evaluation and treatment.

At this time, the accident is still under investigation.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by members of the Floyd Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
