According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, who is the director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a Yorkville man has been arrested for having subjected a female child under the age of 11 to sexual contact.

In November of 2022, the Child Advocacy Center received a report alleging that 41-year-old Daniel Lazarek had engaged in sexual contact with a female child over the course of one year. Oneida County Sheriff’s Investigator Tyler Barnes, assigned to the Child Advocacy Center was assigned to the case. As a result of the subsequent investigation, Lazarek was indicted by the Oneida County Grand Jury on charges of Sexual Abuse 1st degree, a class D Felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, which is a class A Misdemeanor. Lazarek was arrested by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit and members of the NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force on Friday, May 5th, 2023.

Lazarek was arraigned on the charges in Oneida County Court on Friday, May 5th, 2023. Lazarek was remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $20,000 Cash Bail. An order of protection was issued by the court and services have been offered to the victim by the Child Advocacy Center.
