According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, units were dispatched to Madison-Oneida BOCES at approximately 7:22 AM for a report that a BOCES student on a bus may be in possession of a weapon.

MOBOCES administration initiated a "Lockout" as a precaution. The School Resource Officer and Special Patrol Officer on scene located the student on the bus and conducted an investigation. It was determined that the student did not have a weapon, but that the student had come to the school despite knowledge that they had been suspended. No students or staff at the school were deemed to be in danger during this incident.

The student was charged with Trespass, issued an appearance ticket, and turned over to a parent. The name of the student will not be released due to age.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is committed to the safety of schools and works continuously with our school administrations to ensure the safety of students and staff members in Oneida County.
