According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Friday, May 26, 2023, at about 6:55 P.M., Deputies responded to a reported single motor vehicle accident on State Route 46 in the Town of Verona.

Once on scene Deputies determined, Charrae N. Stanley, age 33, of Rome, was operating a 2017 Blue Mazda in an easterly direction on State Route 46 when she experienced a medical event and exited the northern side of the roadway, striking a tree.

Stanley and her Juvenile passenger were transported by AmCare Ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by AmCare Ambulance, Carl's Towing, and the New London Fire Department.
