According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, on May 27, 2023, at 506 PM, a Deputy witnessed a two car, head-on, personal injury motor vehicle accident occur on W Seneca St just West of Curtis St in the Village of Vernon.

On scene, Deputies determined that Erin Chesebro (41) of Oneida, NY was operating a white 2014 Jeep SUV East on W Seneca St. Due to failure to keep right and unsafe lane change, Chesebro’s vehicle was struck in the driver side front bumper by the driver side front bumper of a grey 2013 Ram pick-up operated by Drake Garramone (18) of Whitesboro, NY that was traveling West on E Seneca St and had crossed the yellow center line. After the collision, Chesebro’s Jeep spun approximately one and a half rotations before coming to rest facing Westbound and Garramone’s Ram traveled approximately 75 yards further West before coming to rest, both with extensive damage.

Chesebro was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital for chest and leg pain along with two 15 year-old passengers both complaining of leg pain, and a 17 year old passenger of Chesebro’s vehicle was evaluated and released on scene, all whose names will not be released due to their ages. Garramone was evaluated and released on scene and was issued a citation for Failure To Keep Right returnable to Vernon Village Court at a later date.
