According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Rome man was arrested following a DWI Investigation on Rome New London Road in the City of Rome.

On 06/15/2023 shortly before 9:00 pm, Deputies conducted a Traffic Stop on Rome New London Road in the Town of Verona after a violation was observed on Rome New London Road in the City of Rome. Subsequent to an investigation, John Bassett Jr of Rome was arrested and charged with Felony DWI (D Felony), Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (E Felony), as well as other traffic misdemeanors and violations. Bassett was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, where he was ultimately held at the County Jail pending arraignment.
