According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on May 26, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit responded to a residence in the Town of Westmoreland for a report of a stolen NorTrac Bulldozer. It was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that the bulldozer was at a residence in the Town of Floyd where it was being fixed. The case was subsequently turned over to the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit for further. During the investigation, it was discovered that the bulldozer was sold without the owner’s permission. On June 20, 2023, the Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Grover H. Damuth, age 64, from the Town of Floyd, for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D Felony. Damuth was processed at the Law Enforcement Building and was held pending arraignment in CAP Court.
