According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on July 9th, 2023, at around 6:45 pm, deputies responded to the area of Route 28 in the Town of Forestport for a reported two vehicle MVA Personal Injury.

Upon arrival, deputies determined Stephen Mullally (70), of North Chili, was driving a 2017 Honda Civic, Northbound on Route 28 when he crossed over the double yellow line into the Southbound lane and struck an oncoming vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle traveling Southbound, Sarah Scouten (25), of Forestport NY, was driving a 2023 Ford Bronco also occupied by three additional passengers.

All parties were evaluated on scene and transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The accident is still under investigation at this time.

Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Forestport Fire, Star Ambulance, and Old Forge Ambulance.
