According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at about 3:47 A.M., Deputies responded to a reported single motor vehicle accident on Norton Ave in the Town of Kirkland.

Once on scene Deputies determined, a Juvenile, age 16, of Clinton, was operating a 2012 Black Toyota in a westerly direction on Norton Ave when they had exited the northern side of the roadway, striking a utility pole.

The Juvenile operator had five other Juveniles within the vehicle at the time of the accident, one of which was transported by COCVAC Ambulance to Saint Elizabeth's Hospital for minor injuries.

The Juvenile operator was issued several UTT's, returnable to Kirkland Town Court, which included unlicensed operator, seatbelt violations, and moving from lane unsafely.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by COCVAC Ambulance, Clinton Collision Towing, and the Clinton Fire Department.
