Congratulations to Chief Deputy Lisa Zurek on her retirement after 31 years of dedicated service with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Zurek joined the Sheriff’s Office as a Correction Officer in 1992. She was promoted to Sergeant in 2005 and then promoted to Lieutenant in 2010. In 2017, she was promoted to Captain followed by a promotion to Chief Deputy in 2019. She is only the second female to ever hold the position of Chief Deputy in the agency’s 225 years of existence.

Chief Deputy Zurek also received numerous awards and commendations throughout her career. She is also well known and recognized throughout the state for being an advocate & resource for jail administrators.

We thank her for her service to our county and we wish her well in her future endeavors!
