According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on September 1, 2023, at about 11:51 AM, Deputies responded to the intersection of North Road and Knoxboro Road in the town of Augusta for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Steven Aldridge (73) of Waterville, NY was operating a Grey Chevy Pickup northbound on North Road when he drove through a stop sign at the above mentioned intersection without stopping. Steven's Pickup collided with the passenger side of a Mini-Van traveling eastbound on Knoxboro Road. This Mini-van was being operated by Rachel Chase (37) of Liverpool, with 4 additional passengers. Steven was transported via Mercy Flight to Upstate Medical University Hospital for injuries to his head. Rachel and her passengers were transported via Vineall Ambulance to Saint Elizabeth's Hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries.
