According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on September 10, 2023, at approximately 7:06 AM deputies responded to the Village of Remsen for a domestic dispute.

Following an investigation into the matter by deputies and members of the criminal investigation unit, Jeromie Wheatley, 43 of Barneveld was arrested and charged with several offenses including criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, Aggravated Family Offense, a class E felony, Criminal Contempt in the first degree, a class E felony, menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Wheatley was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Building where he was processed before being turned over to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment at CAP court.
