At a brief ceremony this afternoon at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Robert Maciol swore in a new Chief Deputy of the Corrections Division to replace Chief Deputy Lisa Zurek who retired last month.

Sheriff Maciol administered the Oath of Office for Chief Deputy of Corrections to Mark D. Kinderman of New Hartford. Chief Deputy Kinderman spent nearly forty years with the New York State Department of Corrections & Community Supervision - having served lastly as Deputy Superintendent at both the Marcy Correctional Facility and the Cape Vincent Correctional Facility.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office, along with some of Chief Deputy Kinderman’s family were present for today’s ceremony.
