October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has partnered with the YWCA Mohawk Valley for 31 Days of Domestic Violence facts.

10/29 - Couples counseling is NOT recommended for couples trying to end the violence in their relationships due to the power and control underlying the violence. It is recommended that abuser attends a state certified or court ordered family violence intervention program or an offender accountability program. Survivors should seek assistance from a therapist specializing in domestic violence.
