According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Rome man was arrested following a DWI Investigation/ One Car Property Damage MVA on Route 26 in the Outer District of Rome.

On 11/05/2023 shortly after 7:00 pm, Deputies were dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident on Route 26 near Erie Blvd in the City of Rome. Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Matthew Pritchard, age 43, was operating a 2015 Nissan while intoxicated before exiting the roadway and colliding with earth embankment. While being taken into custody, Pritchard became combative with Deputies and physically resisted arrest. Pritchard was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated Per Se, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, as well as other traffic violations. Pritchard was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, where he was ultimately turned over to the County Jail pending arraignment.
