According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on November 15, 2023, at around 11:00 pm, Deputies responded to State Route 49 in the City of Rome for a reported single-vehicle motor vehicle accident with injuries.

On scene, Deputies determined that Heather Yeoman of Rome, NY, was operating a black 2017 Jeep SUV in an easterly direction on State Route 49 when a deer entered the roadway, colliding with Yeoman’s vehicle. As a result of the collision, Yeoman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Rome Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance, and Gurley & Fleet Towing in Rome.
