According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on December 4th, 2023, at approximately 4:12 pm, Deputies responded to Route 13, near Trestle Rd, in the Town of Vienna, for a reported single rollover Motor Vehicle Accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined Khiel Taylor (31) of Blossvale, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Sedan Southbound, on State Route 13, when he fell asleep, causing him to move from his lane unsafely. As Taylor fell asleep, his vehicle exited the Eastern shoulder of the roadway, and drove into a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn on its roof and come to rest, after striking several trees. This caused the trees to fall onto the National Grid power lines, causing a temporary power outage in the area and igniting a fire on the Eastern shoulder of the roadway. Taylor was transported by Amcare Ambulance to Rome Health, for non-life-threatening injuries, sustained as a result of the collision.

Taylor was issued a Vehicle & Traffic Law citation, returnable to the Town of Vienna Court, on a later date.
