According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol deputies responded to a serious personal injury MVA at the intersection of State Route 31 and Route 46 in the Town of Verona shortly after 11 AM. Due to the nature of the injuries the Criminal Investigations Unit and the Forensic ID Unit responded.

At this time the crash is under investigation and was reconstructed. At this time we have determined that a 17 year old male driver was traveling westbound on Route 31 attempting to turn southbound on Route 46 at the traffic light in his 2013 GMC Terrain. A 2002 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on Route 31 and was being driven by Sean Demma, 43 of Utica and the vehicles collided. Demma was transported to Upstate Hospital with serious injuries by Vinall Ambulance. The 17 year old male was transported to Oneida Hospital for evaluation for minor injuries. Due to the age of the 17 year old, his name will not be released.

The crash is still under investigation and no tickets have been issued yet. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
