According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on December 14, 2023, at around 8:22 pm, Deputies responded to Hogsback Road in the City of Rome for a reported single-vehicle motor vehicle accident with injuries.

On scene, Deputies determined that Emily M. Farnam of Blossvale, NY, was operating a white 2016 Chrysler Sedan in an easterly direction on Hogsback Road when due to slippery roadway conditions, Farnam lost control of her vehicle, colliding and overturning into a ditch on the northern shoulder of the roadway. As a result of the collision, Farnam suffered minor injuries and was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital.

Farnam was issued citations following the accident investigation that are returnable to Rome City Court.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Rome Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance, and Carl's Towing.
