According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a City of Rome man was arrested following a domestic dispute that occurred in the Town of Vernon.

On December 15th, 2023, Deputies responded to a domestic dispute that occurred on E Seneca St in the Town of Vernon. Subsequent to their investigation, Thomas Mercurio, age 54, of Rome was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Harassment 2nd Degree, a class A misdemeanor. Mercurio was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing, and was turned over to the County Jail pending arraignment.
