​***UPDATE***

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Forestport man has died as a result of injuries sustained in an MVA.

Deputies arrived on scene at around 9:20 PM. Preliminary investigation into the incident determined Kolby Lyon, 30, of Forestport, was operating a 2011 white Honda Civic southbound on State Route 12. Lyon attempted to make a left turn onto Dustin Rd from Route 12, subsequently colliding with a 2022 gray Nissan traveling northbound, operated by Carissa Huber, 25, of Westfield, New Jersey.

Lyon was pronounced deceased on scene. Huber was not injured as a result of the accident. Huber's passenger, Carter Kelly, 24, of Old Forge, was transported by private vehicle to Wynn Hospital, for non-life-threatening injuries.

A portion of Route 12 was closed as Sheriff's Investigators reconstructed the accident.

Sheriff's officials were assisted on scene by Remsen Fire Dept., Barneveld Fire Dept., STAR Ambulance, Shufelt's Towing, Growers Collision, NYS DOT, and the Onondaga County Medical Examiners Office.

As of 01:30 AM, State Route 12 northbound, between Bethel Rd and Dustin Rd has been re-opened.
