According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol; on January 1st, 2024 at approximately 6:20 pm Road Patrol Deputies responded to a reported single motor vehicle accident with injuries located on Frenchtown Road in the Town of Lee.

On scene, Road Patrol Deputies determined that April M. Phelps (38), of Annsville, was operating a 2011 GMC Yukon, northerly on Frenchtown Road when the vehicle exited the roadway and struck a tree off of the western shoulder. Phelps and her two passengers, a Juvenile whose name will not be released, and Brianna Andrews, of Vernon, were transported by Amcare Ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Phelps was issued several citations following the accident investigation that are returnable to the Lee Town Court.

Road Patrol Deputies were assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Amcare Ambulance, Lee Center Fire Department, and Clayton's Auto.
