A busy Saturday night as several volunteer fire departments throughout Oneida County held their annual Installation Banquets and the Sheriff’s Office was honored to be invited to several of them.

Chief Deputy Mark Kinderman represented the Sheriff’s Office at the Whitesboro Fire Department banquet and presented an Appreciation Plaque and Honorary Credentials to Raymond Daviau for his 60 years of service to the department.

Captain Christine Reilly represented the Sheriff’s Office at the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department and presented Appreciation Plaques and Honorary Credentials to Bernie Szarek for 55 years of service and Peter Holmes for 60 years of service. She also presented a plaque to the department in recognition of their 80th anniversary as a department.

Lieutenant Carey Phair represented the Sheriff’s Office at the New York Mills Fire Department banquet and presented Appreciation Plaques and Honorary Credentials to Fred Griffiths for 60 years of service to the department and John Montrose & Sigmund Bartoszek for 65 years of service respectively.

Deputy Christan Brashear represented the Sheriff’s Office at the Sauquoit Fire Department banquet and presented an Appreciation Plaque and Honorary Credentials to Charlie Gaffney for 60 years of service to the department.

Deputy Ben Petrie represented the Sheriff’s Office at the Oriskany Fire Department banquet and presented Appreciation Plaques and Honorary Credentials to James Dowd & Reed Clair for 50 years of service, Gary Johnson for 54 years of service, and Robin Johnson & Ted Lagary for 55 years of service respectively.

These 12 volunteer members together have nearly 700 years of dedicated and committed service to their respective communities – truly amazing! We say thank you to not only these 12, but to every volunteer fire department member!!!
