According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol, Deputies responded to a 3 car motor vehicle accident with personal injuries on Cavanaugh Rd in the Town of Marcy.

On February 6th, 2024, at about 6:30 AM, Deputies responded to Cavanaugh Rd in the Town of Marcy for a report of a three car motor vehicle accident. Subsequent to an investigation, Deputies determined that William Devries, age 61 of Marcy, was operating a 2010 Ford Pickup Truck in a Southern Direction on Cavanaugh Rd when he failed to use to due care while approaching a hill. Devries then struck a 2018 Honda that was occupied by Tabitha Duerr, age 39 of Marcy, who was parked in a Northern Direction in the southbound lane. Devries then struck the driver’s side of the third vehicle, a 2015 Chrysler that was occupied by Ryan Duerr, age 42 of Marcy. R. Duerr’s vehicle was on the Western shoulder facing in an Eastern Direction when he became stuck in a ditch prior to the accident. Devries and R. Duerr were both transported by Kunkel Ambulance to the Wynn Hospital for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

Devries and T. Duerr were both issued a traffic citation that are returnable to Marcy Town Court on a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Kunkel Ambulance, Maynard Fire Department and the New York State Police.
