The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is set to distribute free wheel locks for Kia and Hyundai vehicles in an effort aimed at combating auto thefts.

“Auto theft is a serious issue affecting communities nationwide, and Oneida County is not exempt,” said Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Applicants must provide proof of Kia or Hyundai vehicle ownership (please see list of effected vehicles). Wheel locks are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited quantity. Locks can be obtained at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, April 3, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Distribution will occur at 6075 Judd Road Oriskany NY 13424 in the front of the Oneida County Public Safety Complex.
