According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, a Rome man was arrested yesterday just after 2:00 PM after a disturbance at the Rome Department of Social Services.

Richard S. Tobiasson, 39, of Rome, became disorderly and damaged County owned property before a brief struggle with Special Patrol Officers and his subsequent arrest. Tobiasson was charged by Oneida County Patrol Deputies with Disorderly conduct, Criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and Resisting arrest.

Tobiasson was then brought to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was arraigned at Oneida County CAP Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail where he is currently being held on bail.

Members of the City of Rome Police Department and AmCare Ambulance assisted on scene.
