FUGITIVE ON THE RUN WHO WAS OUT ON BOND IS BACK IN CUSTODY

According to Robert M. Maciol, Sheriff of Oneida County, Tremayne T. Riggsbee of Utica, New York is back in custody after being apprehended in the City of Utica.

On April 2nd, 2024, a Grand Jury in Oneida County subsequently indicted Tremayne T. Riggsbee on the following charges stemming from an incident that occurred in the City of Utica back in February of 2024.

Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (Class E Felony)

Tampering With a Witness in the Third Degree (Class E Felony)

Intimidating a Victim or Witness in the Third Degree (Class E Felony)

Harassment in the Second Degree (Violation)

On April 22nd, 2024, Riggsbee subsequently bonded out of the Oneida County Correctional Facility (OCCF) in relation to the charges above with a return court date of May 2nd, 2024. Furthermore, as May 2nd, 2024, and May 3rd, 2024, came to be, Riggsbee failed to appear in Oneida County Court in relation to his charges. On May 3rd, 2024, an Oneida County Court Bench Warrant was subsequently issued for Riggsbee. The said warrant was forwarded to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit for service.

On May 22nd, 2024, through investigation, members of the United States Marshal’s Service New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Utica Division comprised of members from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit, Narcotics Unit, Utica Police Department Warrants Unit, GIVE Unit, Oneida County Probation and New Hartford Police Department successfully located and arrested Riggsbee on 1400 Block of Neilson Street in the City of Utica. Upon said apprehension, Riggsbee was transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility where he was lodged pending his arraignment in Oneida County Court on May 23rd, 2024.

On May 23rd, 2024, Riggsbee was produced in Oneida County Court where he was arraigned and ultimately remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.
