According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on June 23rd, 2024, at around 9:49 am, a Road Patrol Deputy was patrolling Route 26 in the Town of Lee. While patrolling, the Deputy observed a downed motorcycle in the roadway and stopped to investigate further.

The Deputy determined after investigation that the operator of a 2023 Bashan Motorcycle, Nicholas Paine (19) of Ava, was operating in a southerly direction on Route 26 when due to a mechanical failure, lost control of the motorcycle. The loss of control resulted in Paine sliding a short distance. Paine was transported to Wynn Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries received from the accident.

Patrol Deputies were assisted on scene by Lee Center Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
