According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on June 8th, 2024 at about 1:39 PM, Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Cider St and Thruway Exit 32 intersection in the Town of Westmoreland.

Upon investigation, Sheriff Deputies determined that Gerrard Parry, age 77, of Utica was traveling west on Cider St in a 2018 Nissan Rogue with three juvenile passengers. Parry failed to stop at a steady red signal and collided with a Mercedes Van driven by Anton Bergen, age 44, of Ontario who was attempting to turn left onto Cider St from the Exit 32 Thruway exit. Parry and his passengers were transported to Wynn Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Bergen and his passenger signed off on medical care at the scene.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Westmoreland Fire Department, Central Oneida County Ambulance, New York State Police, Central Auto and Upstate Auto.
