According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on Thursday the 12th of September 2024 there was a circulation of a social media post on Facebook and TiK Tok that was shared in a potentially threatening context that contained a list of Schools that were mainly located in the State of Georgia under the heading of Targeted Assisted.

The term Targeted Assisted is a commonly used term by government educational agencies to describe schools that provide supplemental services to students who are at risk of not meeting state academic goals. The list presented in the posts appeared to have been published by the State of Georgia Education Department and/or potentially altered to include other districts within Oneida County or that have districts of a similar name.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has not received or been made aware of any recent direct threats toward any school districts within Oneida County. Through the cooperative efforts of the districts and the investigations conducted by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, we have found that there is not a credible threat to any of the districts within Oneida County.

Through our collaborative efforts, we continue to place the safety of our school communities in the highest regard.
