According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol Road Patrol deputies responded to an address on Taberg Florence Road in the Town of Annsville around 1:15 PM for an assault. While deputies were on scene they encountered, Brian Platt, 33 of Taberg. Platt ran into his residence and was making threatening statements. A perimeter was established and hostage negotiators were called to the scene. After several hours of communications, Platt surrendered without further incident. Platt was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. At this time the incident is still being investigated and criminal charges are possible. Further information may be released at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Taberg Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance and the Sheriff’s Office UAS Unit, ID Unit, and the Metro-Swat Team.
